Walk to the beach in Puerto Rico

Walking distance is the difference between going to the beach and going for a swim before breakfast. These homes are close enough that you carry a towel, not a plan — Isla Verde and Ocean Park mainly, plus the Condado strip and the coast out at Luquillo.

The beaches differ more than people expect. Isla Verde is the widest sand and the calmest water. Ocean Park is where locals actually go, with better food behind it. Condado is the most convenient and the roughest water. Each property page says which beach and roughly how far.

Worth knowing: Atlantic-facing beaches on this coast get real surf in winter. Ocean Park and Isla Verde are the safer swims; ask us if you are travelling with small children.

A-1! Felt right at home. As described, the home is fully stocked with linens, towels, beach chairs and fully stocked kitchen. The location was excellent, steps away from the beach and local food. Would stay again!

Diana’s villa is exactly what we needed. Good size rooms, AC and ceiling fans in all rooms and a private parking spot. Walkable distance to a nice beach. I would definitely come back in the near future.
