Pet friendly in Puerto Rico

Bringing a dog to Puerto Rico is straightforward — it is a US territory, so there is no quarantine and no import permit for a pet arriving from the mainland. What is harder is finding somewhere to stay that genuinely means it rather than tolerating it.

These homes take dogs. Ground-floor places with outdoor space work best, and several are a short walk from a beach where dogs are normal rather than negotiable. Message us with the breed and size before booking and we will tell you honestly whether a particular home suits.

Worth knowing: Airlines flying into SJU each set their own rules on carriers and cabin travel, and those change. Check with yours before booking anything.
