Fajardo is Puerto Rico's eastern gateway, serving as the departure point for ferries to Vieques and Culebra. Beyond its strategic location, Fajardo offers its own bioluminescent bay (Laguna Grande), excellent snorkeling at offshore cays, and the stunning Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve.

Bio Bay Kayaking

Fajardo's Laguna Grande offers bioluminescent bay kayaking just like Vieques - but without the ferry ride. Guided nighttime kayak tours let you paddle through glowing waters right from the mainland.

Can I take a ferry from Fajardo to Vieques?

Ferries to Vieques and Culebra now depart from Ceiba (about 10 miles south of Fajardo). Book ferry tickets in advance through the Puerto Rico Ferry website (puertoricoferry.com).
