The home includes a fully equipped kitchen with cookware, utensils, coffee maker, fridge, stove, and everything else needed for extended stays or home-cooked meals.
🏛️ A Note About the Home’s Historic Nature
Plazo del Mar is located inside a building that’s over 200 years old, one of the many preserved historic structures in Old San Juan — a UNESCO World Heritage district.
That means: • You will see original architectural details like thick stone walls, high ceilings, exposed wood, and antique doors. • Some furnishings and finishes are intentionally preserved in vintage condition to match the building’s authentic character. • You won’t find ultra-modern, brand-new construction here — because that’s not what this part of the city allows or is known for.
Instead, you’re staying in a true piece of living history, surrounded by beauty, charm, and culture that no modern condo can replicate.
We want guests to come expecting a property that is rich in personality and heritage. If you’re seeking a sleek, modern high-rise, this may not be the right fit. But if you love the magic of an old town — balconies over cobblestone streets, colorful facades, and the stories held within historic walls — then Plazo del Mar is exactly what you’re looking for.

This apartment exceeded our expectations! The location was outstanding and made it easy to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, historic sites, and everything we needed was walkable. It was exceptionally well kept. We never encountered bugs or pests during our stay. The air conditioning and fans made each room comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, and essentials. There were plenty of towels, adequate soap, and everything we needed. We also loved the small veranda off the kitchen. Guests should know there is one flight of stairs, typical for a historic building. The layout of the bedrooms is as described in other reviews, but rooms in back have access to a bathroom and exit. The street is one lane so if you Uber in or out you have to be ready or you’ll hold up traffic. What we loved most was the character of the space. The high ceilings, beautiful artwork, historic details, and thoughtfully decorated bedrooms gave the apartment a warm and welcoming feel.
Our stay at Palace Villa was absolutely unforgettable! Located right in the heart of the charming cobblestone streets of Old San Juan, it truly couldn’t be more perfectly situated — just steps away from everything Old San Juan has to offer. Inside, the apartment is spacious and full of character, featuring five comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen, and a welcoming living area that made it easy for everyone to gather and relax. The highlight for us was the unbelievable balcony — the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy the vibrant energy of the streets below and watch the world go by. Staying in this incredible historic home was such a special experience. It blends history, charm, and comfort beautifully. We loved every moment of our stay and are already looking forward to returning!
We had a wonderful stay in Old San Juan. The place is just as beautiful as the photos, spotless, stylish, and very comfortable. The location couldn’t be better because everything we wanted to visit was within walking distance, and having a grocery store just three minutes away was super convenient. A great bonus was the delicious coffee shop right downstairs. The host was incredibly responsive and made our stay smooth and comfortable. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Old San Juan.
We had a wonderful stay! Check-in was seamless, and the location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of Old San Juan. The apartment is part of one of the area’s historic homes, full of charm and character, which made the experience even more special. The internet was fast and reliable, and having a supermarket just across the street was super convenient. Everything was exactly as described. We’d love to stay again on our next trip to San Juan!
We truly enjoyed our stay! The property was very well kept and the host provided all of the basics like towels, washcloths, dishes, body wash, etc. The host was very responsive both before and during our stay, and quickly resolved any issues or questions we had. The location was amazing as it was right in the center of Old San Juan! The airport was only a 10-minute ride away, we were within 15-minutes to an hour of at least 3 beaches, and we were able to walk to several restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Definitely considering booking again in the future!
The apartment is very well located if you wanna be close to restaurants and bars, also if it’s your first time in Puerto Rico. Even though it is on a busy area, there was not noise from the street. The apt is also very convenient if you are traveling with a group of friends or family, since is big and comfortable ( looks as the pictures). The host was very nice and answered properly to our questions.
Old San Juan is the walled colonial quarter founded in 1521 — a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the oldest European-founded cities anywhere in the Americas.
Its streets are paved with adoquines, the blue-grey cobblestones cast from furnace slag and laid down centuries ago, and they run between pastel townhouses with wrought-iron balconies and interior courtyards. Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Castillo San Cristóbal anchor either end of the district, both part of the San Juan National Historic Site.
