Collection Luz n°2 – Casa Brisa | Retraite 3BR

Negative: The environment leading to the premises was seedy, shabby and the property was in a run down area. Our Uber driver voiced his concern for us, warning that the neighborhood was not safe for 2 women. We immediately called the hosts to verify that we were at the correct location. They said we were at the right location. The outside of the 2 storey house was very dirty. The steps were not swept, there were spent cigarette buts on the walkway and landing, the louvres were covered in black dust and the handrail was also very dirty. Leaving my hand black upon use. The host's agent advised that we overlook the outside and enter. We were given a code to gain entry which did not work, so we never were able to access the inside of the property. We immediately told the agent and the host that we were dissatisfied and would not be staying at the premises and to consider the reservation cancelled. I also mentioned to them that the picture of the exterior of the house was quite deceptive as it did not capture the environs that would have allowed for a more informed decision. We have had numerous correspondence with the hosts who have remained unresponsive regarding the return of the payment which was made directly to their account. They have acknowledged the black dust covering everything and even intimated that it is a common occurrence in Puerto Rico. This is my third visit to PR and the first time I have experienced such unclean conditions. Firstly, my concern is to have my payment refunded . Secondly, that regulatory measures are taken to protect unsuspecting tourists from less than truthful hosts.

Perfect Stay at Luz Collection Positive: From the moment we arrived, everything felt easy and welcoming. The space was spotless, stylish, and thoughtfully set up with everything we needed. Location was ideal — close enough to enjoy the area but still quiet when we wanted to relax. The host was responsive and made sure every detail was taken care of. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone considering the Luz Collection.
